Things to do in Kuala Lumpur, Mai Khao, and Phuket?

Has anybody been there, and if so any recommendations or tips?

I'm going on business but the business side of it is about 3-4 days, and seeing as it's the other side of the world and I've never been there before, I'll stay for 2 weeks to have a look around.

At the moment I know I definitely want to go to Phi Phi Islands, but open to other suggestions, willing to venture anywhere really but flights are very long as it is so don't want to waste more time travelling somewhere very far when/if there is nice things to do reasonably close.

Kuala Lumpur is for 3 nights by the way so the bulk of the trip will be in Thailand.

Patong beach is good fun, there's nothing much to do in Phuket itself.

You can rent jet skis for about €50 for 3 hours.

You can also go wake-boarding all day for about €20.

Patong is absolutely mental at night! The things you see are unreal.

Go snorkelling on Phi phi and take the night trip to the different beaches and islands. Brace yourself for the dirt though.

I loved northern Thailand. Chiang Mai especially. It's really worth the trip, internal flights are very cheap!

Went last year with herself. 2 weeks in total. Bangkok to phi phi then Phuket.

Excellent, so will definitely check out Patong one of the nights. Would love to check out Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan while I'm at it!

Nope, going Dublin - Kuala Lumpur via Abu Dhabi, 3 nights there then Kuala Lumpur - Phuket, 11 nights then Phuket - Dublin. Might be a bit tight for time to be going north east and south east as well as having a look around where we're staying. I think I'll check out internal flights and then play it by ear. Any other suggestions or recommendations meanwhile welcomed
