    Exporting a car - documentation

    Anyone here exported a car?

What documentation did you provide to prove it was exported?

    Exporting a car - documentation

I have done this. I presume u mean exporting with a view to a vrt rebate. I will email u a list of what's required if u want. I used the receipt of sale I got from the garage that bought the car as the proof of export. Once u have this dated within 30days of ur vrt export inspection u will be fine. You just need to wait for a copy of the v5 (presumably u are exporting to uk) and then u can send off ur form for the rebate.

does the car have to be NCT'ed?
Also do you need the v5? Surely an invoice or boat ticket is suffice?

The car needs a valid NCT. on the site it also says

Documentary proof of Vehicle Registration Number as assigned in another EU Member State,

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/vrt/exp...html#section12

I exported my own car to NI which was fine as I was getting the V5,

I'd imagine you need to get the new owner to send you a copy of the v5

Yes v5 or equivalent needed to show that the car was registered in another jurisdiction.
