    Alloy protection

    Hi guys,

Getting a new set of alloys soon and wondering what you recommended to put on them for protection?

    RE: Alloy protection

Any protection is better than no protection. No questions that G Technic C5 is a class act. However for something less expensive & less permanent have a look at Autoglym Alloy Wheel Sealant, easy to apply but it would need regular applications when compared to other sealants.
Some of the wheel sealants like Poor Boys, or Chemical Guys Wheel Guard, these would be superior, have a look on detailingworld.co.uk for reviews. Have a look at the sponsors website too for options:

I have huge time for the Car Pro range in general so I would like to give this a go:

It is pricey but like GTechniq it is a lifelong coating.

Sorry Tony - dont know how I missed this post!

As pointed out, it really depends on what you are hoping for.
Its the type of job that I dont fancy doing often, so I prefer to do it right, once!
As the wheels will be going on, its best to do a full decontamination (assuming they are not brand new), a wipedown (even if they are new) and apply something like CarPro DLUX, so once the job is done, its done for 12 months or more. Cleaning the wheels after that, will be a doddle!

    Dave,
A bit of an old thread revival.
Before I put the refurbed 19"s back on the m3 I should seal he first to keep them looking right.

Is DLUX the best product you have in stock for this?

    Thanks
    John

Yeah it's worth sealing them...for ease of washing them.
DLUX is the best we have.

Don't forget the IPA wipe down of the wheels before sealing. 50:50 mix of water and isopropyl alcohol(available in maplins) sprayed on and wiped off with makeup pads.
