    Shaking steering wheel?

    Could anyone help.
My steering wheel starts shaking after about 80-90kmph.

It's not as bad as it was on the mv2s. After the mv2s I had a set of steelies on her and it wasn't shaking at all an now I have put a set of motorsports and the shaking is back. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Wheels are out of balance by the sounds of things, if you have a set that theres no vibration!
Bring the set down to your local tyre place and ask for them to balance them - only a few quid!

Balance is probably off or check for warped discs.

    Shaking steering wheel?

If it were disks the issue would only be under breaking.

A buddy of mine had shaking at around 100km/h that ended up being warped discs, this was an E39 though, not sure if that makes any difference.

    RE: Shaking steering wheel?

Another vote for wheels out of balance. I once saw a case (ex-colleague) where a build up of dried muck on the inside of a wheel put the wheel out of balance & caused the shaking you experienced. For me this is the cheapest & quickest thing to check. Get the front wheels balanced first. Also the rear wheels should be balanced too, often forgotten about.

mine was vibrating at 100kph + too, a week after i balanced the rims. turned out one of the wheels was buckled. you really need to get them on a balancer.

    Shaking steering wheel?

Thanks all the four wheels where balanced and new tyres I'm pretty sure that they aren't buckled as I sprayed the alloys before putting them on. Would it be an issue with the steering rack
