BMW 320 engine conversion 2.8 auto

How's a going. Hope someone can help me here?. I have a 320i petrol mannul, going to buy a 528 auto tomorrow and basically need help or know if someone has done this conversion With success. I know the gear box will bolt straight on because it's a straight 6 but will my clutch flywheel pressure plate fit straight on or would I have to get one off a 2.5.. any help will be much appreciated, tanks in advanced

Iirc it's not so easy to put an E39 auto into an E46 manual.

You should be able to use a majority of the parts from the 2ltr, however electrics may be complicated. (This is going from a 4 cyl to a 6 cyl). A 6 to a 6 May be easier.

I think it has a lot to do with what year the car is compared to the transplant car,also I think theres a issue with the sump but I could be wrong,

My car is a 1998 2.0 litre 6 cylinder and taken engine out of a 1999 528 auto.

1998 is e36 yes? So m52 single vanos and the 1999 e39 will be m52tu double vanos sounds like hard work to me
