BMW 1.6 petrol engines.... Any use?

    Hey lads,

Just want to hear feedback on the 1.6 petrol engines in the 116i models.

Want to hear genuine first hand experience on them.

    Thanks

The e92 316i I once owned was a slow pig of a thing, dangerously slow. Problems with hills. However I had a F30 316i and it was much much better, more peppy, almost turbo charged feel to it.

My advice avoid e generation 16i engines but F generation much better.

    F30 316 is turbocharged isn't it ?

Seen a few reviews online for them for a few hundred euro you can have them at +200bhp and 300nm's of torque not bad for a 316

My friend is after an E90 and he is also limited to 1.6 due to insurance reasons, its his second car after a year in a 1.2 Fiesta and think he is still on learner permit.

Now I know the 1.6 wont set the world alright but are they really troublesome?
