Protection - What Should I Use

Choosing a product for protecting your car can be a bit of a confusing time.

Wax / Sealant / Nano Sealant / Quick Detailer / Spray Wax / Spray Sealant.....

    What do you choose??

Well, a lot depends on what you are looking for....
    Durability
    How well it will look
    Easy on / Easy off??
    Cost
    Colour of the paintwork
    Etc

So if you are unsure about what to choose, give some details about what colour the car is, what you'd like durability wise, etc, and we'll give you some recommendations!

Might aswell as, as the unwritten rule is sealents for light coloured cars and wax for dark coloured. Looking for advice for the mothers '11 Clio, looking for durability over 'looks' as it is a few weeks between washes (quick washes at that)

Planning on full decontamination (tar/iron/clay) then the next step is the question, which combination of the following should I use

    Polish (autoglym deep shine)
    Wax (meguiars gold class wax)
    Sealent (Autoglym EGP)
    Quick Detailer (Wax-tec final shine)

If your looking for durability avoid using anything that has protection in it before applying you LSP as this will hinder its performance as its not fully bonded to the paint.

Even after claying a car using lube there will be a small amount of protection left behind that you will need to get rid of before applying your LSP this will ensure that the surface is ready to accept it fully.

Hope that makes sense im terrible at explaining stuff in writing hence why Dave (Curran) does it mostly :-/

Also if I was you and going for durability I would go for 2 layers of Extra Gloss, give it a day and add another 2. I would also avoid using quick detailers on top of the EGP as I have found them to sometimes take away from the protection.

    Anything else just ask

Avoid Fairy Liquid. Any All Purpose Cleaner diluted down will do the job.
