    Welt/Factory Tour

Was over in Germany/Austria for a short break last week and had organised a factory tour on the last day. Obviously no cameras or phones allowed but a few pics of the surrounding scenery....

Thought I'd have been frog marched out of the car park under the Welt arriving in this:

Various displays on the ground floor of the Welt:

Some lucky sods collecting their new wagons:

Upwards and onwards with the numbering scheme:

    The Factory, HQ and Museum

    From the Olympic Park:

And anyone know what goes on the this top floor or what I called the 6 lamps?. Thought it might have been for the high rollers.

They'll be in to 4 digits soon :-)

Just googled and that top floor in the Welt seems to be a restaurant.
Probably as expensive as the options on a 7-series. :-)

Did you do the museum Rich? I thought it was a top notch layout.

    Hi Mark,

No, never did the museum. The factory tour started at 11:30 and took probably well over 2.5 hours. The flight back was later that evening so by the time we got something to eat and also wanted to visit the Olympic Park, the museum lost out.

I saw that ondemand as well. Turns out too expensive. I was talking to someone and said it cost over €250 for an M5 for 2 hours. It seems to be geared for short term (in hours rather than days) type rentals and seems to be run by a dealer rather than BMW themselves. I could have reserved an M4 with SIXT (special order) for the mid €900's for the six days but I didn't want to spend that much. I ended up with a nice bus to waft around in courtesy of SIXT anyways.

    Hi Jeff,

No I didn't unfortunately. The friggin bad weather sort of changed our schedule on the fly. The factory tour was booked for Wed morning with the flight back on Wed evening. Original plan was to be in Munich for Monday night giving us all day Tues to do the usual walkabouts. Didn't get to Munich until late Tuesday so it scuppered those plans.

With all these things I've missed, might have to go back again. :-)

    Rich :-)
