Aircon not working please help

Got the halford guy to top up the gas in my aircon today but still dont have cold air, I can hear a slight change in revs when the aircon is switched on which I assume is normal. When he checked the valve before filling it was compleatly empty so he topped it up as normal and it stayed at that level when he finished but still no cold air.

Has anyone else here had this problem??? The car is a 2003 e46 318ci

No offense to the lads in halfords but they are only retail staff they have no idea what they are at and regularly overfill systems

Thanks for the info lads. I wouldnt usually get halfords to do stuff but as i was passing on my way home from work (melting into the leather) I said I'd give it a go.

If it can be fixed John will do it without shafting you. If you don't have a leak then you've possibly an issue with the condensor given it's an E46.

Mine hasn't worked in the ML either. Been stuck to the seats recently.
No cold air at all. I'm hoping it's just because it hasn't seen a service or refil in 13 years!

Getting the air con service on Friday in a local garage for €50.
Will update afterwards.
