Storing a car with high mileage 200k plus E36 318is

Hi all as some of ye are aware I'm off travelling for a few years. I know it's been discussed before but I have a few questions. Car is bagged so tyres will not be left on car will be stored on axle stands and the weight taken off the hubs. Just wondering what should I look out for? Want to stop mould on the inside of the car as it may be untouched or not even started for 2 years. I plan to leave fuck all petrol in it. The tank is plastic right? No need to add any stabiliser? Any risk of anything in the engine seizing? Any help appreciated.

Could you get someone to chuck a few of these in every 6 months

Sounds like you have a good plan anyways bubble and axle stands for 6 months remove battery, and change fluids on return

Ye these or something similar are in the pipeline. I make my owl pair use something similar in the camper van. I'm not too worried about the exterior I want to not get anymore rust but I'll probably respray the car (again haha) whenever I'm back.

Off the top of my head. Handbrake off, petrol thank full, if on wheels tyres need more psi to avoid flat spots, if off ground jack stands and as you said support control arms. Put it on cardboard to prevent damp rising. If concerned about rust clean and seal or even wd40 on non painted pits or some of that aquaphobic stuff? Remove battery, use some rock salt in a bowl to keep damp inside at bay. Would also suggest a good service before she is parked up.

Engine would be fine because there would oil in it. The bearings etc will retain oil on the surface

It would be the restart that you would be careful about.

Get the car turning over but not starting to build up oil pressure

    Why though?
If he has room to store it why not.

He like many of us has spent many €€€€ getting his E36 to this stage, Sell it now and lose money.... Then buy another E36 and spend a few thousand on it in 2 years time to get it to a similar standard.

A lot cheaper in the long run to keep what he has.

Yea had this argument with Dad for the last 6 months. Saved hard and was super scabby so as not to have to sell. Thankfully have enough money already. I don't think I'd be able to at this stage anyway stupidly obsessed with that car.
