Cleaning and protecting threaded studs, what product?

    Alright lads

I want to clean up my exhaust studs and stop them from rusting up in future.

So obviously a wire brush. But for the protection of the studs so they don't cause grief in the future is what I am unsure about.

Is a spray of a primer good enough?

This is what I am talking about

    Copper grease or ordinary grease.

As said, copper grease. It's heat resistance which is why it's used for brakes.

Copper grease was what I was going to put on after alright but I was thinking of something more permanent like paint / Ecoat.
