Fiat/Jeep recall - welcome to the future.

Fiat/Jeep recall - I'd say this is only the start of the worries about IoT (internet of things) cars. I'll hang on for ver2.1 of the Autonomous Car.

Personally i dont want or need my car connected to the web

Id love to see a specialist manufacturer dealing only in good old fashioned reliable well balanced cars

Things i dont want or need
    E brake
    Electric assisted steering
    Fake engine/exhaust sounds
    Run flats
    Internet connection cars
    Start stop
    Keyless entry
A computer for a simple battery swap
    Park assist
    Lane assist
    Blow your nose assist

Im sure i can think of more

Auto wipers can go on that list, I'm not sure how or why they first came about but if I'm driving and it starts to rain, I can handle turning on the wipers myself...really it's no hassle. That and BMW's wonderful move of omitting a dipstick in the engine bay.

I didn't honestly know cars had Internet in them these days and I see no need for it at all.

Haha I'm paying to get it installed in mine! Ah its just a feature that happens to be on NBT, no need for it, but not complaining

I couldn't hack start stop, electric parking brakes are daft, keyless entry would be handy though... Is it just me or are all these features for the lazy?

Auto lights and wipers are handy though

I do like gadgets, but i do argree that its adds an unnecessary layer of complexity, with more chances for things to go wrong

I agree with almost everything but I do like auto lights and wipers. People complain about auto wipers not working how it should but I find it works perfectly

Electric seats are unnecessary. No complaints, I just don't think they're worth the extra weight.

Over the top, needless electronics, full stop! Had to completely pull apart a range rover during the week to try find a wiring fault. They have about 26 seperate ecu's!!! Even the windows have their own ecu. Why????????!!!!

And the money makers....... Egr's and dpf filters.

Electric handbrakes. Electric trottles. Motorised steering columns. Plastic fuel filter housings that break as soon as you touch them. Spline/torque headed bolts- whats wrong with just having a normal bolt??? Lack of water temp guages. Reverse beepers- what were lexus thinking??
