anybody have any experience with O&B Cars ballymount road, went in to look a 05 audi 1.8T for the misses last week, he was getting it nct'd so said I'd wait till the next day so anyway, done a deal with him on the phone on Friday, he was busy with a client & didn't call me back to take my deposit, he then went & sold it to someone else on Saturday. when I expressed my view that it was poor form, the dealer gareth then proceeded to verbally abuse me from a height calling me a w**nker etc etc......I'm telling you if I had him, he'd need an ambulance, some way to do business.....rant over

That's unfortunate but can't blame the seller to sell to the first one dropping cash on the table.
You did not pay any deposit so the car was still for sale. I know you wanted the NCT to pass before paying a deposit, but this played against you.
Don't worry you can always find a better example.

yeah, probably shouldn't have been buying an audi anyway.
But I told the dealer I wanted the car, agreed the price, he was busy & said he'd call me back, anyway it was more his manner on the phone, the verbal abuse was totally uncalled for, I'm in business myself & there's an old saying, that the customer is always right, if he played his cards right I might have looked at other cars in the lot

anyway looking an e90 tonight, so maybe better off in the long run.....

Is there a general poor reputation for car dealers in that area or is that being unfair?

I think there's a term that was coined a few years back, 'ballymount bandits' or words to that effect. It has stuck since I heard it.
