E36 9j Tyre advice

Hi lads,

I have a set of Borbet A's coming in this week.
9j on the rear.

What tyres would allow me a little stretch to help fitment.
I'm thinking a 215/45/16?

What's the offset on the wheels?

Are they 16's? 215/40 can go on a 9j without any drama, get John to work his magic on those arches though
