The E46 CSL was much more special relative to a standard M3 than this is to an M4.

What was the weight difference between a CSL and a standard M3 again?

I think it was 125kg Dave, but that was for a no-options car, so most specced with Xenons, Air-con & radio are about 90-100kg lighter. However, weight loss wasn't really the aim, it was lowering of CoG

The list of differences between the two cars is extensive, and not just an airbox & carbon roof as many seem to assume - the whole character of the car was changed

One other point - the price differential between the CSL & M3 was proportionally far smaller than it is between GTS & M4

The price difference between the e92 GTS and M3 / f82 GTS and M4 is nuts, they're literally chancing their arm knowing someone will buy them, it's twice the price of a standard car, and for that money you can get something far more exotic!
