Hi Dave,

Car wasn't driven for 3, maybe 4 months so i think that's what killed the battery, it was around 2/3 years old. The last time i had work done the mechanic advised a gas analysis test to be done to find out why the cat failed so that's what's making me think it's a fueling issue.

No. Not that I can see. Could it be over fueling? I had an issue with the cat before so the cat is gutted at the moment until I get a new one.
Why the new battery - reason I ask is it could be a dud alternator. Not charging the car as you drive around leaving you struggling to start in the mornings and this would account for the engine flooding and a smell of go juice?
