    Remap or chip

    Hi lads looking to get a chip or a remap for the m52b28 I recently put into the e36, currently has a m50 manifold also on it . Would be better get a chip or send off ecu for a good doing over.? Don't really know too much about chips and ecu's and all that so any suggestions and advice be great

    Sending off the ecu seems to be popular. I'm looking at getting mine done soon but want it on a dyno. As only way to show results and get a custom tune to your car not just a generic map.

    Technically you need a chip and a map from what I've read as they can't remap the standard chip they have to swap if for a mapable one

    D ecu's are different on the m52's and m50's.

    Did you not put a nonvanos m50 2.5 into the car?

    Either will only be as good as the mods supporting it. Eg injectors, manifolds, exhaust etc. Do both

    Ended up putting in the m52b28 328i in the end ha still have the 2.5 as a back up

    Dave Hawe down in cork has done a couple of ecu's for me. Made a noticeable difference to the car. Send him a pm on Driver. DaveMsport.
