e39 abs and dsc light coming on

    Hi guys
My nephew just bought a 2003 e39 with 125 miles and an excellent service history. But he had it for a week and the engine management light came on the abs light and the traction control light which I presume means he's driving around with no traction control ?
He brought it back to the guy he bought it from and he got his mechanic to look at it but he said he couldn't find a fault and recommended he take it to auto key why I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Barry

Probably the abs control module, common enough issue, is it an original Irish car?

    Yes it is original
I think his might have asc instead of dsc which mine has does that make a difference when diagnosing the fault ?

It means it's probably an issue, ASC means it's got the 001/002 control module which are notorious for going faulty.

A decent BMW mechanic like HealyC or Valdas would diagnose it pretty quickly.
