Thread: Over tight Lug Nuts

    Angry Over tight Lug Nuts

Not BMW, but I'm sure the same applies. The mother changed her car recently, said I would give the alloys a proper (wheel off) clean. Glad she hasn't had a puncture so far as I snapped the head of one of the lugs off with a breaker bar trying (failing) to open it.

All others seem to be the same, trigger happy air powered wrench monkey I presume.

Question: will a decent air impact wrench loosen them? Don't want to be left having to drill out 20 threads.

I really hope so as I'm in the same situation with my own car! Extremely annoying to say the least:@

A decent air impact gun should open them. Putting a socket onto the nut and then hitting it with a hammer a couple of times to 'shock' the nut works the odd time too.
