E36 steering racks

What steering racks fit e36 and do any have better ratios etc ?

have the e46 purple tag in mine great upgrade

you can buy a rack shortner which halves your lock to lock ratio worth a look into

Its a actually rack I need. Mines been leaking for awhile but getting worse

Yeah purple plate all the way. Have one in the shed I must fit. Also a standard rack there if you need it.

english ebay is normally a good spot if you can't source here

Try a local breakers. Should get one cheap enough, dont let on its a quicker rack for an e36 or they might charge you more for it!:wink:

which cars are the purple tag racks out of ?

Could be anything.
I'v had E46 318ci SE and M-Sports with them. (2002)

I don't think no-one can actually tell which specific car they came with.


Very easy tell though, It's literally a purple tag on the rack. (Normal can be Silver or Green)

e46 compact will always have one afaik but they are not exactly plentiful either
