Hi, I have an issue with my fob. The remote function just stops working for no reason. In the past two weeks it has stopped working 4 times. Everytime i reprogramme it, it works fine. The key is only a year and half old. Also I'm pretty sure either the battery or the alternator is on the way out. Any help greatly appreciated.

They sound like seperate issues the key might be under a 24month warranty so if the batterys failing they will replace it , I'd suggest checking the voltage of the car battery in the morning before its first start up a healthy battery should read around 12.5-12.6v you can also test the alternator by taking a reading while the cars running should be up around 14v iircOriginally Posted by kildangan_kid

I don't have a mutlimeter unfortunately. I'll get it tested somewhere tomorrow.(the headlights dim while clutching when slowing down) I thought the key was charging while it was in the ignition?

If your near a maplins halfords Argos etc they are only around 10-15e , it will charge in the ignition but only on long drives it takes a full 32 hours apparently for a key to move from 0-100% in the ignition
