    1996 E34 525i Auto battery problem

Hi, last week when trying to start the E34, there was nothing much left in the battery, after it had been on the driveway fro appr 6 weeks. So I charged it with a car battery charger for a couple of hours. When it was full, it started and kept on running. This morning, I tried it again, but nothing. Not even the central locking system was working. And when I hook up the battery charger again, it shows "error". Is the battery gone? I think this model has the battery under the rear seats. Does anybody know how to remove the rear seats? And how to open the rear door when the central locking is not working? Should I try to jump start it? Thanks for your suggestions. Kim.

Grab drivers door handle and hold it up. Key should turn on the lock and unlock the door for you. Yes battery is under the rear seat. All you need is a bit of force to pull it up. Hold the front the the bench and pull.

I can open the front doors, no problem. It's the rear doors that are still locked. And without opening them I cannot remove the rear seats.

Will the button at window level not pull up? Can you get another car near the front of the E34 to use jump leads?

No, the button will not pull up. I will get some jump leads later and try to jump start it (couldn't find the other ones anymore).

Yes jump it through the terminal under the bonnet. Even without starting it you should be able to open the central locking.

Now, I managed to charge the battery, but the car won't start. It is turning, but not starting. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Flooded ? If it only ran for a short time ie moving it in the driveway then switching it off.

How do I get it running again, if it could be flooded?
