    New Payment Module

    Folks,

Just a quick heads up - we've added another payment option; Stripe Payments Gateway!

We've had some feedback that the PayPal payment method is a bit of a pain, so we've splashed out on a new module, which will mean a much speedier process at the checkout; less clicks and pages to load. Select the 'Stripe' payment option at the checkout and you will be greeted with a window similar to below (sample screenshot), enter your card details and bingo, job done! Then we'll get on it, and have your detailing products to your doorstep by the next working day, if you've submitted your order by 3pm!

Stripe was founded by two Irish lads back in 2010, John and Patrick Collison, and though it's a massive company, I think it's good to choose one of our own over the likes of PayPal!
PayPal will remain a payment option, but going forward we will be assessing the usage of both gateways, and we may phase out the PayPal option.

If you are submitting and order, and going the Stripe route, we would appreciate any feedback on the payment process!

    Cheers,
    Detailing Shed

I used to use the same, the amount of frauds on this is staggering.
I had a lot of fraudulent transactions in the few weeks before XMAS from different countries and counties

And you are responsible for it. How convenient for those companies.

Fraud prevention process with this company is fairly poor compared to others. They will pay you, then 30 or 60 days later money will be charged back, so you have to refund them. Plus they charge extra fees for every fraudulent transaction, guess what? You have to pay them too.

According to their conditions, same as many other payments processors, you are responsible for the fraud. So any card that is charged back, you have to refund, even if you sent goods and are out of pocket. That is your problem.
Stripe of any others are the same. No way around.
    So be careful with this.

I am well aware of the issues - had the same with PayPal - so they are all useless when it comes to it!
The site is limited to orders only from Ireland, so this helps slightly.
I will give them a chance, and will pull the plug if we get more than a few claims!

On the PayPal claim, guy made 6 orders in a short space of time, a matter of days - claimed on 3 of them, and won - argued with PayPal how are the other 3 genuine, etc, but talking to the wall - was taken for 500 quid plus. Their argument is that its the bank on the buyers side, final decision - which is a joke! Had all the info presented, order history, he'd used a discount voucher I supplied to him for his larger orders to use the next time, which he did, and claimed unauthorized transaction on an order he used a discount code - if it was unauthorized, why would he be worried about a discount - PayPal wouldn't entertain it!
