    Importing goods from China?

Hi all, I'm looking to import some metal products from China. I sat on the phone for 20 minutes with revenue earlier trying to confirm the duties ill have to pay upon receipt.

From reading online ill have to pay vat (23%) on the FOB price and customs (17%?). Has anyone done it here previously as Id like to know exactly what I'll have to pay? Ive read through the ROS site and its given me a good steer, but im just looking to see if anyone has personal experience and could advise me?

We started importing some items from China over the last year. If you are not in a panic I will get an idea of what's involved when in the office next.

That'd be great Andy, thanks. I've samples en route from two suppliers at the mo, so it'll be a couple of weeks before I make the bulk order. Thanks for your help.
