Time to sell on my 1996 E34 518i SE as my 535 is just about ready. this is a cracking car and I have to say really enjoyed driving it. you would think the 1.8 is underpowered - its not. Im not saying its a rocket but it does actually suit the E34
I have had 2 520's in the past and can honestly say this is a far better. The 520's are way heavier on Petrol and you really have to drove them up in the revs to get the power out of them.
The 518 is nice little revvy machine where you happily cruise at 80mhp on the Motorway or for pottering around town. Recently I went from Tullamore to Dublin and back and then onto Limerick via Borrisokane which is mostly back roads. It was a 320 mile round trip which cost me €50 on petrol - not bad at all!
It currently has 129k miles and is in very good condition. This has the M43 timing chain engine so no timing belt to worry about. Sitting on 15” BBS wheels in very good shape with plenty of life left in the tyres.
I replaced the rear disks and pads, brake master cylinder, battery and viscous fan
Running very well with no reported issues. Tax is just up and has a NCT till May 2017
This car really surprised me with how it drives and can honestly say will be sad to see it go
