Hi does anyone know the law regarding having the front windows tinted?

I see a lot of the younger car enthusiasts with tinted sun visors that come down 3/4s the way down the front window, that must be illegal. I would have thought that nothing was allowed on the front windows because Ireland is dark as there is little sun.

MX Tint fella on the old Belgard road does legal front windows and also full windscreen. Pass NCT no problem. Windscreen is obviously not dark. It is goldish. Looks well.
He is a regular at the Blanch weekly meet. Has a white e30

Tinted windscreen sounds quite cool. Does it replicate that look of early 90's late 80's bronze glass?
