    Battery conditioner/charge maintenance advice

I'm planning on tucking the 6 up for a couple of months so that I can bring the 330Ci out to play for a while.

Usually when I garage a car for a period like this I just use a simple battery isolator switch to "disconnect"the battery and there have been no problems with the cars or the batteries using this approach.

The electronics and battery management technology, etc. on the 6, and other newer cars, mean that this may not be as appropriate a way to deal with this one. Just getting at the battery terminals to add an isolator terminal isn't so easy anymore and I suspect that the added complexity of this car means it might be more inclined to throw a hissy fit at this approach to saving the battery charge.

So, I'm looking at battery conditioner/charge maintenance options. The most obvious products are some of the CTEK ones, and the CTEK MXS 5.0 seems like an appropriate product.

Any feedback from others who use conditioners, or suggestions on other products?

    Thanks in advance.

D, I have one of those and find it great. I bought it a few years ago to look after an Italian coupe that got very cranky when it was parked up.

You're not wrong there! Though the nice people from Charles Hurst have a very discrete fully enclosed trailed that swallows up clunkers!

Now, there's a member of your fleet that slipped under my radar! Trident, Prancing Horse or other?

Agree here, I have one for the M6, BMW and many other manufacturers rebrand the CTEK unit as their own. No need to loom beyond this unit!

Jay Leno, has bought a fair whack of them in his time!
