    E92 M3 buying advice please

    If I was going to look at an e92 m3 tomorrow is there anything specific I should check, look for or be aware of?

    It's 2008.

    Have the throttle actuator and abs unit been changed? Are there any interior trim rattles (incl the seats) or buttons not working? I presume the seat belt presenters won't work.

    I'd also want recent service, suspension work / inspection and fresh tyres. These cars can go through money like you wouldn't believe.

    Thanks John.

    The throttle actuators have been done.

    Is 5 previous owners 'the norm' for a car like this?

    What are seatbelt presenters?

    Good news on throttle actuators. If the abs unit hasn't been done it will need it, they might as well be a service item.

    I'd say 5 isn't a huge surprise (esp given 2008+ financial events) but suggests to me that there might be a risk that the last owner or two may have skimped on maintenance esp if the ownership periods were short.

    The seatbelt presenters are the little arms that stick out when you close the door, pushing the seatbelt so it's within grasp. They break regularly.

    Agreed, I would buy one without it.
    My car had it and had over €5k in warranty work in the 6 months I had it

    Thanks for the replies guys, this car community is great really!

    I was viewing the car for a mate of mine who's 3hrs drive up the country. I'm only an hour away from the car. So you guys were really doing me a favour doing a favour for my mate.

    The car is VERY nice. Only two 'marks' on the paintwork, one is on the rear bumper and to be honest, the owner said it needs paint anyway. Wheels are all immaculate. Interior is slightly worn on the drivers bolster and steering wheel. Boot carpet is stained. Very nice to drive, responsive, sporty, but yet refined.

    I wish I had the type of money to be able to afford one, but I dont.

    The car in question is here;

    Was it someone called MarkN? Seem to remember he had a 2008 Silverstone M3.
