    '02 E39, phone/nav/ TV options

Thanks to Dave, I now know I've a mk3 headunit in the M. No phone kit, even though it has the phone button on the wheel and stereo. I really want an oem style Bluetooth install, and I'd like to get the Nav and TV working, just well, because. I must add, I'm an Android guy, and no interest in changing to iOS. Also I don't stream music, I'm happy with talk radio and CDs. I'm toying with the idea of a reversing camera too.
Installing isn't an issue, i fit a fair bit of similar stuff to motorhomes in work.

    Thanks in advance.

I have the bluetooth as an option in my e39, I upgraded to the newer microphone. People still complained they couldn't hear me. I then installed dice, same results with bluetooth and had a horrible "alternator whine" when listening to streaming music. Wouldn't recommend those two.

I had a look at this in depth.

If you want OEM Bluetooth you need to buy a Bluetooth module, and microphone, there's a retrofit loom that's needed too.

You can send the tv unit to the uk to be changed over to digital and they can beef up the amp at the same time if you send it over. Not cheap though

A MK4 nav should be plug and play for you and if you get an intravee you can integrate an iPod

I'm going to go down the NBT route with mine so could sell you all you my MK4 and intravee, or you can just try them and see how you get on

I'd really suggest looking into the NBT retrofit, it's about the same cost as what you would need to spend to get all the original gear working.

You literally have the same system as a new F10, it's awesome.

Kind of like an Arduino idea?
