yes its normal, m5 dont have a buffered gauge like most bmws so the temp is acurate! any e46 m3 i ever had was also the same!!Originally Posted by Tristan

Might be different for the E46 M3, but under normal driving, the oil temp stays at around 80-85 and when driving on it can go up to 95-100. Water temps fluctuate on my car from left of centre to centre but on my fathers M3 the temp rarely moves away from the middle
