Go for it John. It is So worth it!!! And with regard to the trim I did Aqua graphics on mine and they are still as perfect as the day they were done a year ago. You can get piano black or something more out there what ever takes your fancy. And it is cheap enough to do. Think the whole interior for my car cost 200 at the time. No need to buy new ones either I have a spare set from an m3 interior here if your interested in keeping your originals intact.

Thanks Aidan, that's a nice pattern. Quite like the silver cube.

Much better than my titan silver.
    Not the best pic
Much better than the Titan. I hadn't seen that in an e46 before, only e39s.

There is a Eucalyptus which Kin had along with Cinnamon in his car.

    Valdas' breaker has it too

Birch anthracite is very nice. Does anyone have it in their car?

So seeing as anthracite birch is rarer than hens teeth does anyone know if it might be possible to pair regular birch (like the below) with a black tinted topcoat.
Would it effectively look the same?

I wanted this for my e39 I was obsessed with having a fancy trim until I found a set the price was a 1000e the interest swiftly faded and I went with technical graphite

John remember I told you about the water transfer done in carbon effect that looked really well in a red e46 I saw. Maybe they could replicate the pattern your after.

Yeah it's very nice. I'd say they could do birch anthracite if you give them a couple of good photos of the design and 1 piece of trim as a tester maybe
