I'm fed up with companies "playing it safe", it's like apple and the iPhone 7 compared to the 6s and the 6 before it. Little tweak here slight change there. Nothing radical. I get why they do it it's just boring as shit to be honest!!

Looks very close now to the 7 series...and probably alot larger than the old 7 series too. Interior following the same theme as every other model now by the look of it. Will be interested to see what the M Sport one looks like.

It looks very like the Jag XJ from some angles, especially with the wheels on it in the pics

At least it looks as if the F10 bonnet ruler edge at the front has been thankfully removed, not much of a visual move along - the M Sport one is always the one waited for the most by me anyhow.

I have to say I like the look of it. The f10 has aged pretty well and so the evolutionary resemblance is fine by me. There have been a few magazine articles in recent weeks with journo's "helping" BMW finalize their ride and handling testing in Wales and the verdict seems to be that they've injected a little more personality back in to it compared to the f10, which would have been probably my one gripe the f10, immensely capable but not an obvious personality.

Its depressing though that the only straight 6 petrol is the 540i.
    Current: BMW 530e M-Sport - '17, BMW 630i Sport auto - '07, BMW 325i Coupe - '93, BMW Z4 2.5si Auto - '07, '90 BMW 316i Lux.

    Previous: BMW 328i Coupe - '96, BMW 530i SE auto - '07, BMW 530i Sport auto - '02, BMW 318i SE Touring - '07, BMW 330Ci Sport - '04, BMW 520d SE - '11, BMW 523i SE - '00, BMW 328i SE Touring - '00, BMW 523i SE - '97, BMW 323i SE - '98, 330Ci - '00, 325i Coupe - '93, 318Ci - '01, 316iSE - '98, 325iSE 2dr - '91, 320i Conv - '91, 325i Coupe - '92, 320i 2dr - '91.

I saw the car last Month. BMW had a road show and were travelling around with it in a container.
It was a loaded pre-production LHD 540i. RHD production not slated until Jan-Feb.

Couldn't take any pictures as they took the phones of everyone.

Side very 7 and the rear a 3. Front treatment was lovely. The sculpting around the rear window from the high shoulder line looked good too.
Front over hang looked a bit long to my eyes. The bonnet gap looked big almost as if it was slightly open. It's a big car.

Interior, every bit a BMW but I think there's a marked upgrade to the dash materials. One of my pet hates in the bigger BMW's is their widespread adoption of Dakota leather.
This thing I believe had dakota leather but the BMW genius over from Munich couldn't confirm that. The heavy sculpting on the seat faces hid it well though.

Only saw it under indoor lighting so didn't get to see it in daylight.

Thought he said it was starting off at around €52k so a bit of a jump from the F10 although it may be loaded with extra gizmos as standard.

My brother went to one of the viewings a few weeks ago liked it but got a fair shock when he was priced circa 24k to move from a 15 to 17 like for like car
