I am in the same situation my self. Airbag light was intermittent a couple of months ago then worked perfect. The other day came on and hasn't gone off since. I hate seeing lights on the dash .going to get codes read and if it's passenger seat mat at fault there is a bypass on eBay for between 14- 45 Euro (depending on type of sensor fitted ) which activates airbag whether someone in the seat or not. Afaik once fitted the faults have to be cleard .don't.go messing with the dash unless you put black.tape over the light (what I am doing till I get it sorted Out of sight out of mind ;-)
