Quality of New "OEM" bmw mats ?????

    Happy Christmas everyone.
    Hope ye are all well.

This morning after a few pressies.
The wife gave me a box with genuine BMW E39 floor mats.
She bought them from the dealer.
I can't believe how poor the quality is.
    I'm shocked.
I'd get better for 30 quid off eBay.
    Can I return them ?
    It says in t's & c's that it's 7 days from deliver.
But she got them a couple of weeks ago.

Doubtful, it's entirely at the Dealer's remit. You have up to 14 days if it was sold online/via the phone under distance selling regulations - but unless the mats are damaged on opening, you're not entitled to anything under the sales of goods & services act because you don't like the quality.

    And yes, that sucks.

On the other hand, this idiot on eBay thinks a set of M3 mats are worth £1200!

I wonder at what stage did bmw decide to sell utter sh1te mats.
The originals are better than these.
    And they're 14 years old.

They're velours mats. If you're not happy bring them back.

There's two different types as said above. The city mats feel like cardboard compared to the other type. I have both and you really notice the difference in carpet quality and weight. I'd bring them back and get the other ones. Put your foot down with them that you thought you were getting good quality mats. I think it was about 8 years ago but I paid €130 for the higher quality mats for the e39.

    Appreciate it.

Just to put this to bed. Went to the dealer where mats were bought.
Got a stonewall " 'no' we can't take them back. They're the correct mats."
I even brought my 14 year old genuine, original e39 mats in to show the parts guy. To show the gulf in quality.
    Nope. Wouldn't budge.
Can't get over the low quality of mat that were sold to me as genuine.
Honestly you'd get better in Halfords.

Last time I presume the OEM way is the best way to go.
    €155 quid well spent. (Not).
