    New car time

Hello lads..long time no see/talk.. anyway the time has come to change out my daily driver. Noting wrong with it just getting a bit tired. So my plan is to keep my fun car and look at a new daily. The choice has been set to a m47 engined e9x or a e60.. so it'll be a pre face 07 at max as I just don't trust the n47 regardless of the tax break.. so with that in mind I have between 7.5 and 8.5k to spend.. I currently travel between 500-800 miles a week so the lower mileage car the better. Always been a 3 man but I love the e60 design. Been a 2.0 car I'll clearly map and sort egr/flaps etc.. my only worry is been from the 3 family is a 5 to big and heavy.. any pros and cons I'm not thinking of.. reliability issues etc over the 46.. oh and no matter what car it'll be on bc or v1 coilovers so not worried on suspension side..

    Happy new year also

E60 will definitely have a bit more room over a E90, it will also be better equipped and more comfortable.

I know the tax is a pain in the hole but this 525d M Sport looks the business if the mileage is genuine. No timing chain on the M57 engine to worry about either:

A remap will get that up to 530d performance too.

If the higher tax is a problem then this 520d might be worth looking it, it's a 2007 but has the older M47 engine (you can tell by the older automatic gear shifter), looks cared for and has relatively low mileage for the year:

Sorry forgot to say it'll have to be manual also I can't bear auto..tried but can't and I know a 5 is better suited to it but not me.. the issue with 525s in say 07 or 06 is they are 3.0 I'm sure.. no way I'm paying the tax.. I'd just love a lci m47 520 but I'm swaying towards a 320.. I've this in my list of cars..https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sal...leage/14074476 not a bit 92 fan but it looks dam good..the other option is https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sal...04-17/13661595 which I can make look better..all this and I don't even like silver that much..but it's all growing on me..black or dark colours preferably and not cream interior.. but that's not a deal breaker as my own seat will be used

With the mileage you are looking at, a 5 will be a much more stress reducing option compared to an e9x......

    Especially an auto

I know you said you prefer a manual but I'd say drive one for a week or so and you'll be converted

I have to say the auto is brilliant - don't think I'd like a manual in the e60

I would be on N47 side ,newer engine ,more power ,just change the chain if needed and will go again! All engines and cars has their pluses and minuses. So for me N47 only ! Auto boxes works perfect . Both models might need lot work with 100k Mls or just over ,very recomended for check over before purchase if possible with somebody who knows what and where to look for

Mate of mine will be selling a 2006 E90 320d MSport shortly.

Red with black leather, lovely combo, 160k miles totally standard. 110k miles done on the motorway from Tipp to Portlaoise for the last 5 years so has lived an easy life.
Just been tidied up cosmetically too, painted bumpers etc. Will be bought right as he is in UK now. Drop me a PM if interested.
