    Detailing Recommendations

When I picked up the 330d it was nice and clean but the passing of a week has revealed that some wax or protection wouldn't kill it.

I'm considering getting it detailed in the hope that it'll stay clean for longer than an hour after being washed. It turns out black cars are actually more difficult to look after.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a detailer they've used?

The list I know of is
    - Spirit (wasn't happy last time so unlikely)
    - Elite
    - Flawless Drogheda
    - Detailing by Dave (he seems to post from M&G a lot)
    - Any others???

The question is: Who should I use?

There is another one in that list I would not choose.

There is Kingpin also, he looks after an F430 for a guy I know.

Also interested on peoples feedback - Keen to get a full detail and protective coating.

Used Brian in spirit about 5 years ago for the E39 and it still looks great.

There is a guy called Trevor Keogh too. I used Spirit many years ago and was happy at the time. As usual different people have different experiences. I wouldn't let Elite near my lawnmower.

You'll probably hear good and bad for all of them. Everyone has a bad day, where things don't work out, or you run into issues with equipment or delays, etc.
The measure of a good detailer is one who will admit they've done a poor job or if you raise an issue that they are willing to listen to you and rectify.

All the big hitters have been mentioned!

    John,

As this is such a new car, have you considered doing it yourself and saving quite a few quid.

When I got my car, one of the first things I did was clay bar it and put a good coat of wax on it to protect it. You don't need much detailing skill to do a clay bar treatment and apply wax.

Unless you car has significant swirl marks which it shouldn't with the low miles, I would save a fortune and do it myself and re-do every 6 months.

That thought occured to me last night. The car appears to be swirl free (to my eye anyway) so I might just crack open the detailing box at home and use what I have.
