    Quality Fuel Ireland

    Hi All,

I hope to take a spin over sometime in the summer, but I normally buy fuel with RON 100-102 levels because of the M engine.

Where can I get this in Ireland? I can't seem to find anything along the south coast.

    Thanks!

Simple answer, nowhere. Stock up on Millers CVL turbo or NF booster or similar. Even 98 Ron is all but unavailable here.

Thought the ethanol added to the likes of Maxol etc. raised the RON? (lowers the energy density though)

Christ, that's just mental. How do the engines survive in Ireland!

Is it legal to carry a big extra container of fuel in the boot? Ive used at least RON 100 even in my 2L 6 cylinder for the past 4 years.. I even find the difference in that small an engine considerable

    Little things called knock sensors.

Sure.. but you never really get the full performance of the engine. I will probably go down the Millers CVL turbo root. Even states in the handbook that RON 95 should only ever be used in emergencies

You're complaining about 95ron? hardly noticeable

Try live in the US!.....Most places there are 89-92. Friend of mine with a 911 Turbo was shocked when I said we had 95 everywhere.

Saying that my brother in Texas put in 118ron in his 5.7 Hemi Tundra for the craic

As long as I don't get stuck at the side of the road, or I'll be coming back here

But the difference is quite noticeable, from my own experience.
