I paid 2k including fitting for an ID6 Evo unit. So full mapping, carkit, wireless CarPlay etc.

It fully integrated with the OBC so range and errors etc. are pulled through as well.

    Its the coolest mod

I'm seriously considering replacing the already upgraded factory unit with this http://www.dynavin.com/products/n6_e46.php but don't want to buy without trying one first.
I have the dynavin N6 in my 130i and for the money I think its great. Really good bluetooth synching, good radio, not too many settings, streaming audio. It's quite good. I had the parrot asteroid Smart in my M3 and I find this device far superior to be honest!

Yeah but you can't run Spotify natively on it as you can't expand the usable storage on the device.

That'll be a huge issue in the future.

Would that bother you a lot? Obviously I'd like something with a perfect solution akin to a modern CarPlay equipped system but for my money I think anything under a grand is bound to have limitations.

Even the fit and finish on the car isn't right, with my one, the LED that illuminated the cd tray would shine on my face.

Not being able to increase the usable storage capacity for applications is a big deal. Also means you can't simply put all of Europe on your unit.

As a car kit it was also completely unusable.

Why spend a grand on a unit that is dependent on a phone for the source, just get a bluetooth module and an aux in.
