    E36 m52b25 oil pressure/temp

I'm gonna put the vdo gauges into the track car I'm building.so the question is where on the engine if possible can I get my temp and pressure sensors to work the gauges? Anyone done this? Or do I need to fit a sandwich plate like if I ran a cooler? Thanks

Pressure and temp should be picked up on the oil filter housing of I remember correctly. The m3 housing has 2 ports for senders. Not sure about the non m housing.

Ya I've been looking it up alright.seems like people fit the m housing for that reason.a plate might be easier to get and fit I think.

If I was you I'd be looking at getting a T to go into the original port so you can fit two in one port. More cost effective unless you intend to fit an oil cooler down the road.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352087969507 Looks like they're on eBay. Dunno will you need 3 ports you'll lose your pressure switch if you install that and want two senders.

I fitted an Oil filter adapter to my M52B28 drift car i have a photo below of a similar one i fitted and it works very well for oil temp and oil pressure gauge. They have two 1/8'' NPT threaded ports to thread the sensors into.

Nearly all sensors are 1/8" NPT threads so its very easy get sensors for just got the sensors and put some PTFE tape on them and threaded them in where those screws are in the picture. The gauges i used were replica DEFI which came with sensors and worked very well. alot easier than messing with the existing oil pressure sensor.
