I can't disagree with this more. I had a Ford Falcon on gas in Australia with 320k on the clock and still ran like a swiss watch. In fact, it was smoother on gas than it was on petrol. Lots and lots of cars in Oz with little to no issues as they know how to install LPG, all of the horror stories here/UK concern cars that were converted badly. Just like any mod/maintenance, if it's done badly it won't end well.
