    Brake calliper rebuilds

Hi all, I'm starting to think that the calipers in my M3 need to be repaired/replaced. Pretty sure the driver-side front is sticking and after 115,000 miles I would imagine a little love would go along way. Wanted to find out if anyone has any experience of having their calipers reconditioned/rebuilt? Did a quick google and these guys seem to be good value http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.u...series/e46/m3/

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I got them to rebuild and paint the calipers on my e46 m3.

They were so bad to deal with I'd rather set fire to all my cars than use them again. It was probably the worst experience I've had in 23 years of motoring.

That's about as blunt as I can be about it.

A lot of people use Bigg Red in the UK for this. I ordered a rebuild kit for my calipers from them earlier this year. I think it came to about €100 for new seals and pistons for all 4 calipers and was fairly straightforward to do. Like you my front right was starting to stick. Car was on around 105k miles at the time.

I actually got black caliper paint from the company you mentioned a few years ago. Have had no issues with it so far but the paint did take ages to arrive.

Murfit in finglas will sort you out. Bring your old campers and you'll get them back in a week or so rebuilt.

It's actually an easy job to tackle yourself with basic tools. I've done it on a couple of my cars and painted them with high temp paint from Halfords while I had them removed. Lots of YouTube videos if you fancy tackling it yourself.

Thanks for all the help guys, particularly you JohnH, guess I won't be using them! I'll talk to Valdas and see if he will do it as part of the next service job.
