    E92 M3 Actuator Inspection

After being the owner of E92 M3 with 50k miles plus on the clock for almost a year now, I have decided strip down the top of the engine to remove and inspect the actuators.
Throttle response is still good and I am generally happy with everything.
I have seen other peoples actuators on the net after removal and the cogs are totally worn. Fingers crossed for me.
Any one else on here removed them.
I have done a lot (I mean a lot) of reading up about it and phoned different companies in the UK about new boards, logs etc. Rebuild.org seem to have the best reckord that is next to a €3k bill from you local Main Sealer

I've gone though 4, 2 on an M5 and 2 on my M3. I have the first one from the M5 in the garage someplace, symptoms were uneven idle followed by the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree. A few of the gears were worn in the plastic cogs.

    Ok, today is D day.

Car in garage and I started by removing the air box, hoses, etc. I watched a YouTube video detailing all the steps and it looks reasonably straight forward
It takes a while to find all the clips, I made sure to number them in sequence.
There are some screws under the manifold at the back that are a pain in the A** to open.
I hand to take a break for half and hour and go back to it.
    Eventually got them out.
I covered the cylinder heads with tape.
I have this orange tape I use for practically everything "American Duct Tape" mighty tack.

The inside of the actuators look perfect. No sign of ware what so ever on the cogs. Both actuators are in the same condition.
Is this the sign of an easy life so far????
I will fit them back in later or may be tomorrow.

So.....😥 no fault coming up and light still on and it's in limp mode.
So I decided to dismantle the whole thing again, it's amazing how quick it can be done once you know what you are at.
All back together and there were no loose connections as far as I can see but the light is now off.
I mustn't have pushed one of the connection together fully first time round.🙄

Got the problem sorted, I took everything apart again made sure to plug everything together properly and Bob's your uncle...
The only problem was that I'm a 'spanner spaz'
Ya that is an Overfinch LSE... bought it to drive but then ended up buying some things else and then something else....
I'm sure you all know the illness I suffer from....
