    Knock/clunk while braking

    Interesting one here folks.

    E46 saloon,

I'm getting a small clunk when I'm braking. Not when I press the brakes but a second or two after the brakes have been applied, I suppose as forces in the suspension load up.
I will get just one clunk during any given braking session, it seems to only happen or at least be noticeable at medium to low speeds.
My FCABs were replaced about a year and a half ago with febi-bilstein units, I can't imagine them to have gotten that bad.
The noise is on the drivers side and I can feel it through my feet.
Ill check out the TCA but i know what they feel like when the ball joints are knackered and this is different, there are no knocks over bumps just braking.
Caliper has not been off on that side for at least 2 years so I doubt any bolts are loose.

Any thoughts or experience with anything similar?

    Cheers,
    John.

    Knock/clunk while braking

Thanks but don't think so, I'd have other symptoms.
The clunk is starting to become a clunk-clunk-clunk rattle now so it might be a balljoint after all.
Once the wife is out of hospital and back on her feet ill get underneath and have a look. Dammit cheap wishbones are a total waste of money they don't last long at all!
