I’m 27 with 6 years ncb, no points or claims and I couldn’t even get quoted by anyone bar octane insurance which was €2400
It’s fucking ridiculous
I could insure one fully comp nearly 5 years ago with 2 years ncb
Similar issues- I’m 30, swapped the policy from my e46 m3 onto my e92 m3. When I sold the e92 m3 and bought a runabout (320cd) worth about €1500, my policy doubled to €1800. I’m now trying to switch the policy back onto my e46 m3 and they’re refusing to do it as it no longer meets their risk appetite. Utterly ridiculous.
Similar issues here, just called to suspend my insurance and get a quote on an e46 M3 - “nope, we don’t insure cars older than 04” - well the car I had my policy on was 03 - “yea but that’s cause you had a policy with us” - eh... I still have a policy with you! - “we’ll have to refer it on then” - refer away...
If the car is NCT’d then it’s deemed roadworthy and that should be the end of it...
I was told that my car had too many previous owners on it for them to offer a quote?!

Lads try First Ireland. I just changed to them 2 weeks ago. I just got my disc and it says that my underwriter is AXA. Had similar craic as above trying to get a quote.
