    E60 HVAC / heater issues

Two issues I'm encountering at the moment with the E60 and I'm not sure if they are linked or not.

Firstly, I'm only getting luke warm air when the fan is directed at the footwell or into the cabin. If it is directed at the windscreen I get the full temp (32 degrees). Just to add that both thermostats have been changed and within iDrive I have the temp set to max heat.

Secondly, if the fan is directed towards the occupants, the actual fan speed can change depending on the speed of the car..so for example if I have the fan speed at 1 and I'm going 120kmph, it feels like it's at speed 3 or 4 and it drops if I slow down or come to a compete stop. It's almost like the blower motor doesn't work correctly with this setting! Anybody else experience these issues? Cheers, Shane

I don’t know if related but I’ve always found the e60 blows much stronger on its lowest setting that the e46 did. Just something to get used to I suppose.
Is the car auto? The reason I ask is that they have another thermostat on the transmission heat exchanger and these are known to fail in the open position preventing the coolant temp getting over around 60/65deg

Possibly, best to drive another one and see! Mines an auto but since the thermostats were replaced, the temp goes up to 90 degrees
