E36 dash storage compartment

I wonder would you be able to modify if you got #17 from this diagram?
However, buy a compartment/rubber mat to modify so you don’t ruin your original one:

I was going to write the exact same thing earlier this morning! Almost word for word. Then I checked his ads on DD but there was no sign of it. But it might be advertised elsewhere.
