Will a 6 point cage bolt in pass?
Will a 6 point cage bolt in pass?
When i looked into it the cage had to be removed before NCT
Remember following a thread many moons ago on an e30 M3 which was having the
S85 V10 engine and running gear installed. Piper motorsports in the states built it.
They done a very neat job on the roll cage by integrating the uprights into the A and B
pillars, allowing all but the rear x brace of the cage to be hidden behind trim.
Heres a small bit about it, I think the full thread was somewhere on S14.net but
I can't get in to that website any more.

Thanks Brian. I will have a look for that car.
I would prefer a weld in cage but that will likely not pass nct. Which leaves me with bolt in only.
I know plenty cars with weld in rollacages that passed nct. As long as you've no door bars, i.e; access to the car is not restricted your fine.
Maybe some nct testers are more strict of course.
Another spanner in the mix now lol!!!
I would be 100% sure ,in case of accident , insurance would be not valid .

Probably but insurance will be invalid for 90% of modified bmws on the road if it really came to it lol
Wiechers 6 point bolt in ordered
disagree, nobody will check brakes ,suspension or other stuff. Roll cage is something u cant miss, and is body strengthening which is why can do more damage to other vehicle ,thats why its not approved in ireland afaik. i cant imagine what must happen ,and bette not to happen, that somebody would take car for full check
after some accident .but once would see caged car in accident , booom !!! here we go,its what i mean
