There isn't any discernible pattern to when and what, but they review and adjust the Depreciation Code associated with a car from time to time, especially as a car moves along the lifecycle (e.g. a few adjustments made to F10 5's last year as the new model arrived), sometimes up and sometimes down. Each code has a pattern of residual %'s associated and they supposedly try to match a code pattern to values in the market. In 2015 there were a lot of valuation increases as residual values started to bounce back a little from the kicking they got in the downturn. Later in 2017 there seemed to be a bit of a move towards reducing residuals on some cars as the effect of the volume of cars coming from the UK has impacted on residuals a bit.

    Its back again now.

Re. 7 - have been having a look at these for a friend just lately and there is some fairly stonking value and great specs in them, 2013-2015, at the moment, even at AUC prices. If not, AUC, you may still be able to buy back in to BMW warranty if the service history is full BMW.

Oh that is great news, some really, really good value, was looking at a 2015 model that was just about within budget, 32k miles on the clock 7s must have the sharpest deprecation curve of all BMWs!
