Valve Clearance Shims

Hi guys

Where do you go about getting shims for doing the valve clearances. I am hoping to get my z3m done this week. Is it bmw only?

Individual shims yes BMW.

Wiseco do a full shim kit and the shims are perfect for the job quality wise etc etc. Just Google wiseco for the s54 and you will get some part number for the wiseco. Buy it on ebay

I think Volvo or Fiat shims are cheaper if it’s an s50, as above if it’s an s54 it’s wiseco vsk4 shims you’ll need.

Measure them first id say alot of the times if you only need 5 or 6 cheaper buy from bmw singilar?!

Wiseco was only 40 quid or 50 quid delivered.

BMW shim 10 euro each or something

Ya it's an s50 I'll have a look for the wiseco ones, wouldn't have minded buying the box from bmw but they are discontinued, only available individual at 10 each.

If it's S50 then you need to look at fiat 33mm shims

Ah it would kill me to fit fiat shims, I'll have to go genuine. Pity nobody has a box of them handy.
