130i engine Oil and filter change

Hi guys

I have a 130i now the last few months and it's just due a service. I was looking at possibly booking into BMW as there is quote a bit of history with the car and would like to keep that up. Question is would I be better going to an Indie? If so any reccomendations? Or change the oil and filter myself?

What oil would be recommended for these?

I find main dealers aren't too bad for an oil service price wise, but better value would be Motor Confidence on Knockmittten Lane
